A wind advisory is in effect in parts of Los Angeles County until 9 a.m. Wednesday with north winds expected to be between 20 and 30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind advisory is in place for Los Angeles County mountains, excluding the Santa Monica Range, the Santa Clarita Valley, Lockwood Valley, Mount Pinos, Acton, Mount Wilson, and Sandberg.

The strongest winds will be in the mountains.

Gusty winds can blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially high-profile vehicles. Tree limbs can be blown down and power outages might occur.

The National Weather Service recommends using caution when driving and to secure outdoor objects.
