A 65-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash on a freeway transition road in the Pomona area was identified Friday.

Claude Mulders, whose city of residence was not known, was identified by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

The crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on the transition from the southbound Chino Valley (71) Freeway to the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Mulders was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the coroner’s office, he died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The transition road was closed while an investigation was conducted.
