It’s Halloweekend and there’s endless parties, trick-or-treating and Día de Los Muertos celebrations to take advantage of. Malibu, South Pasadena, Brentwood, Redondo Beach and more will have family friendly events, while Haunted Little Tokyo and the Roosevelt Hotel will have 21+ parties. In terms of film, Dawn of the Dead will screen in 3D, Scream 2 and Frankenstein with a live orchestra or Paranoma for something kid friendly. 

FRIDAY

Halloween Bu-Bash: Malibu will host this family friendly Halloween festival complete with crafts for kids, a costume cat walk, and face painting. 

Halloween Spookfest: Long Beach’s kid friendly festival with stilt walkers, balloon animals, trick or treat stations and a DJ. 

Halloween Spooktacular: South Pasadena will have carnival games, inflatables and more. 

Halloween on the Boardwalk: Redondo Beach will have a DJ, a selfie wall trick or treating and more. 

Spooky Saison Dinner Menu at Gasolina: A six course tasting menu to celebrate the holiday. 

ZEF BBQ x Tapatio’s Día de Los Muertos Party: Head to Lokels Cafe downtown to enjoy birria tacos. 

Dawn of the Dead in 3D: Regal LA Live will screen the Romaro classic in 3D.

Black Women in Comedy Festival: The Complex in Hollywood will host Ashlei Shyne, Marie Cheng, Madison Shepherd and more.

Lucha VaVoom: Burlesque and Luchadors will takeover the Mayan Theatre in Hollywood. 


SATURDAY

Los Muertos 5k: Get a run in on Olvera street to celebrate the Day of the Dead. 

Paranorman: The Academy Museum will screen the the LAIKA classic as part of their Calm Morning series. 

Día y Noche de Los Muertos: Celebrate the Day of the Dead at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. 

Corgi Beach Day: Complete with a Corgi costume contest and food eating contest.

Halloween Cartoons and Dance Party: The Abbot Kinney Library will screen Disney’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Mighty Mouse Frankenstein’s Cat

Karen Yi and Bonnie Lui read So Not Ghoul: Vroman’s will host a reading of the children’s book. 

Manhattan Village Trick or Treating: Manhattan Beach will host crafts, live performances and trick or treating. 

Fall Fest: The Pike Outlets in Long Beach will host trick or treating, a dance party, character meet and greets or more. 

Halloween Festival: Head to Studio City for a costume contest, moon bounces, candy and more. 

Cabra Tower of Terror Dinner: Celebrate Halloween and Chef Stephanie Izzard’s birthday with themed drinks and bites. 

Dracula: The UCLA Film & Television Archive will screen the horror classic at the Hammer museum. 

Bram Stoker’s Dracula: Cinespia’s screening the Francis Ford Coppola classic at the Los Angeles Theatre. 

Alvvays: The Canadian indie pop-band will perform at the Wiltern. 

Haunted Little Tokyo: A 21+ party at a secret location in Little Tokyo that’s free with RSVP. DJ’s, drinks, food and a costume contest. 

Halloween at Tropicana: A costume party at the Roosevelt Hotel. 

The Exorcist: The New Beverly will screen the horror classic. 

SUNDAY

Halloween Festival at Brentwood Country Mart: Trick or Treating and more. 

Día de Los Muertos: Head to one of many Forest Lawn Cemeteries to celebrate the Day of the Dead. 

Stranger Than: Sunday Warriors:  Burning Man car artists will takeover Exposition Park. 

ALL WEEKEND

Boulet Brothers’ Halloween Drag Ball: Trixie Mattel, Symone, Dahli and more will perform. 

Haunt-o-Ween: This drive-through day-glo extravaganza is a great way to enjoy Halloween without intermingling with a big crowd. 

Danny Elfman: The film composer will perform at the Hollywood Bowl.

Nuart Fest: Nuart Fest continues this weekend with screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. 

A Very Y2K Halloween: American Cinematheque will screen Resident Evil, Scream 2, The Faculty and more. 

Frankenstein with a Live Orchestra: The Theatre at the Ace Hotel will screen the 1931 horror classic along with a live orchestra. 

Hocus-Focus Festival: The new Alex Theatre in Glendale will screen spooky classics like Donnie Darko, The Omen, Hellboy and more. 

Boo at the Zoo: Trick-or-treating and more at the Los Angeles Zoo.
