Authorities Thursday identified a man who died in an apartment fire in Long Beach.
Firefighters sent to the 1200 block of Walnut Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday quickly extinguished the fire, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
Samuel Claude Davidson, 59, of Long Beach died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the LBFD.
