The Los Angeles Zoo closed Wednesday afternoon after a pine tree fell onto a pedestrian pathway, but no people or animals were injured.

“In an abundance of caution, the Zoo closed to the public and safely escorted the remaining guest out,” the Los Angeles Zoo said in a Twitter post at 5:52 p.m.

The Los Angeles Zoo is assessing the safety of its grounds to determine if it is safe to reopen Thursday.
