Several apartments were evacuated Monday in Pasadena while an investigation was conducted involving a person who may have been mixing chemicals at the location.
The situation was reported around 6:15 a.m. in the 900 block of East Del Mar Avenue, said Lisa Derderian of the city of Pasadena.
Hazmat crews were sent to the scene, and traffic was routed away from the area as a precaution, Derderian said.
By early Monday afternoon, Derderian reported that all streets in the area had been reopened, but she said several residents in the area might be displaced overnight.
“A private hazmat clean-up crew is en route, and occupants of several adjacent apartment units will be displaced potentially overnight as a precaution but are being assisted by property management,” she said.
There were no reports of any arrests or injuries.
