Part of state Route 71 in Pomona will close this week as part of the SR-71 Expressway to Freeway conversion project, officials said Tuesday.
The closure is scheduled from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday on northbound SR-71 from state Route 60 to Mission Boulevard. Southbound SR-71 will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday from Mission Boulevard to SR-60.
Residents and businesses located near the freeway were advised to anticipate noise and vibrations associated with construction activities, according to the California Department of Transportation.
Motorists should expect delays and were strongly advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
