The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent Tuesday to $4.716 after rising 3.1 cents over the previous three days.
The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago and 27.4 cents higher than one year ago but 29 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped $1.778 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose for the fourth consecutive day following an 11-day streak of decreases totaling 12.7 cents, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.597. It has risen 5.9 cents over the past four days, including six-tenths of a cent Monday.
The Orange County average price is 3.9 cents more than one week ago and 24.1 cents higher than one year ago but 25.2 cents less one month ago. It has dropped $1.862 from its record high of $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped one-tenth of a cent for the third time in four days to $3.126. It was unchanged Monday.
The national average price is 4.6 cents more than one week ago and 2.4 cents higher than one year ago, but 12.7 cents less than one month ago. It has decreased $1.89 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
