The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Monday to its lowest amount since Jan. 27, 2023, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.559.

The average price has dropped for 18 consecutive days, decreasing 19.8 cents, including 1 cent Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7 cents less than one week ago and 13.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 3.7 cents more than one year ago.

The average price has dropped $1.935 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $4.462, its first increase since Jan. 3 when it rose two-tents of a cent. It had dropped 16 consecutive days, was unchanged Saturday and decreased two-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The Orange County average price is 5.9 cents less than one week ago and 7.6 cents lower than one month ago but 1.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.997 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.077, the fourth consecutive decrease after three consecutive increases totaling 2.6 cents. It has dropped 1.7 cents over the past four days, including four-tenths of cent Sunday.

The national average price is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 5.2 cents less than one month ago and 33.8 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.939 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
