“Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” again destroyed the competition at the North American box office, pulling in $31.2 million over the weekend, according to final figures released Monday.

It its two weeks of release the monster mashup has grossed more than $134.5 million at North American theaters, according to box-office tracker Comscore.

“Monkey Man,” the directorial debut of actor Dev Patel, opened in a distant second place over the weekend with $10.1 million between Friday and Sunday, Comscore reported.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” was third with $9 million.

“The First Omen” opened in fourth place with $8.4 million, followed by “Kung Fu Panda 4,” which grossed $7.8 million in its fifth week.

Rounding out the top 10 releases were “Dune: Part Two” ($7.4 million), “Someone Like You” ($3 million), “Arthur the King” ($1.5 million), “Immaculate” ($1.4 million); and “Wicked Little Letters” ($1.3 million).

This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was $87.5 million. The year-to-date total is nearly $1.787 billion — down 10% from the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.
