A pyrotechnic technician was seriously injured in an explosion at a fireworks show in La Puente that also injured two other people, city officials said Thursday.
The accident took place shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the La Puente Fortunato Jimenez Fireworks Show, held at La Puente Park at 501 N. Glendora Ave.
“One pyrotechnic technician was seriously injured due to a misfire and explosion … with two others suffering minor injuries,” a city statement said. “We ask for your thoughts and support for their families during this challenging time.”
No further information was immediately available.
