State Route 14 will experience closures in the Lancaster and Palmdale area this week for a road improvement project, authorities said.
The closures are necessary to perform pavement replacement, inside shoulder work and set K-rail that will extend the life of the existing lanes by a minimum of 40 years and improve ride quality, according to Caltrans.
Full overnight closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday-Friday on northbound SR 14 between Avenue K and Technology Drive, and on southbound SR 14 between Avenue N and Palmdale Boulevard.
The project began in spring 2023 and construction is scheduled to continue through winter of 2025-26, according to Caltrans. The cost is estimated at $164 million.
