A man in his 30s was killed in a traffic collision Friday in Lancaster.

The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. at the intersection of 240th Street East and Avenue O, including a 2012 Chrysler and a 2011 Dodge Ram, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Chrysler was traveling north on 240th Street East, north of Avenue O, while the Ram was heading southbound. The Chrysler crossed the center dividing line for reasons still under investigation and collided head-on with the Ram, according to the CHP.

The driver of the Ram sustained minor injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center, while the Chrysler driver was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. His name was being withheld by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner pending the notification of relatives.
