Authorities sought the public’s assistance Monday in identifying a boy between the ages of 10 and 13 who was taken to a hospital after riding a scooter on the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway.
Officers were dispatched about 6:30 p.m. Sunday regarding a boy riding a scooter in the express lanes of the southbound 110 Freeway at Jefferson Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The child, who was described only as a Black boy weighing 70 pounds, entered the freeway at 28th and Flower streets wearing a black shirt with blue boxer shorts.
He was later located and taken to Los Angeles General Hospital by the Los Angeles County Fire Department for observation.
According to the CHP, the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services arrived at the hospital after being contacted, but the Los Angeles Police Department did not have any reports of missing persons matching the boy’s description at that time.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the boy was urged to contact either the LADCFS at 800-540-4000 or the CHP Central Los Angeles Area Office at 213-744-2331.
