The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped a half-cent Thursday to $4.598, one day after run of four increases in five days totaling 3.3 cents ended with a decrease of eight-tenths of a cent.
The average price is 2 cents more than one week ago but 1.4 cents less than one month ago and $1.146 lower than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.896 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped six-tenths of a cent to $4.526 one day after a streak of four consecutive increases totaling 3.9 cents ended with a decrease of 2 cents. It is 1.2 cents more than one week ago but 1.5 cents less than one month ago and $1.04 lower than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.933 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped eight-tenths of a cent to $3.196, one day after rising one-tenth of a cent. It is 1.6 cents less than one week ago, seven-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago and 38.8 cents below what it was one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.82 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
