The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Sunday for the fifth consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.579.

The average price has dropped 3.2 cents over the past five days, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak follows a run of four increases in five days totaling 3.3 cents.

The average price is 2.2 cents less than one week ago, nine-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago and $1.052 below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.915 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price also dropped for the fifth consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.503. It has dropped 4.9 cents over the past five days, including seven-tenths of a cent Saturday. The streak follows four consecutive increases totaling 3.9 cents

The Orange County average price is 3.1 cents less than one week ago, 1 cent lower than one month ago and 94.2 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.956 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the fourth consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.177. It has dropped 2.7 cents over the past four days, including eight-tenths of a cent Saturday.

The national average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 4.5 cents lower than one month ago and 38.1 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.839 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
