Motorists trying to travel on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu could experience significant delays Friday as Caltrans crews impose intermittent closures to accommodate slope repair work.
The closures will occur at various times throughout the day on PCH between Corral Canyon and Latigo Canyon roads through 5 p.m.
Motorists were warned to anticipate delays of up to 30 minutes or seek alternate routes, including using the Ventura (101) Freeway.
Caltrans crews will working on the adjacent hillside to PCH loosening rocks that may fall onto the roadway. The slope was affected by a mudslide caused by heavy rains in February. Although a fence and k-rails were installed to protect the roadway, more rocks and dirt recently slid down the hillside, according to Malibu officials.
Crews will be working to clear the debris and loose rocks on the hillside.
