The No. 1 lanes in both directions on Interstate 10 east of Hayfield were closed for bridge repair Tuesday.
California Highway Patrol officer David Torres told City News Service that Caltrans personnel were operating on a stretch of road approximately one mile long shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday. CHP records indicated that the workers are positioned near mile marker 92.
Torres was unable to confirm a timetable for reopening.
