An earthquake with a revised magnitude of 3.8 struck near Malibu Friday, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the temblor, recorded at about 2:15 p.m. at a depth of about 6.2 miles, was centered around 2.7 miles north northwest of Malibu, 5.6 miles south southwest of Agoura Hills and seven miles southwest of Agoura.

The watch commander at L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Malibu/Lost Hills station confirmed there were no reports of injuries or damage and said the quake “was barely felt.”

However, there were reports the temblor was felt on the west side of Los Angeles, parts of the San Fernando Valley, South Bay and Orange County coast.

Its preliminary magnitude had been 3.5.
