A Qantas flight to Australia returned to Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday because of a mechanical issue.
The flight, QF16, was headed to Brisbane, Australia from LAX and took off at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. It returned and landed at around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to media reports.
The airline did not request an emergency landing, but the airplane made a priority landing, a Qantas spokesperson said in a statement.
“The pilots followed normal procedures and returned to LA,” the spokesperson said.
