The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent Wednesday to $4.495, one day after a six-day streak of increases totaling 5 cents ended with a decrease of one-tenth of a cent.

The average price is 3.7 cents more than one week ago and 10.4 cents higher than one month ago, but 6.4 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.999 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $4.438, after not changing by more than one-tenth of a cent for three consecutive days. It is 3.6 cents more than one week ago and 11 cents higher than one month ago, but 2.4 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price was unchanged Sunday, rose one-tenth of a cent Monday and dropped two-tenths of a cent Tuesday. It has dropped $2.021 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the eighth time in nine days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.129. It has increased 6.4 cents over the past nine days, including one-tenth of a cent Tuesday. The national average price rose five consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed rising Monday.

The national average price is 4 cents more than one week ago, 8.7 cents higher than one month ago, and 5.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.887 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
