The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Sunday for the sixth consecutive day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.748.

The average price has dropped 3.6 cents over the past six days, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.5 cents less than one week ago and 14 cents lower than one year ago but 21.9 cents more than one month ago.

The average price has dropped $1.746 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 10th time in 11 days following a 23-day streak of increases totaling 32.3 cents that boosted it to its highest amount since June 11, decreasing a half-cent to $4.711.

The Orange County average price has dropped 4.7 cents over the past 11 days, including three-tenths of a cent Saturday. It dropped three consecutive days, was unchanged last Sunday and resumed decreasing Monday.

The Orange County average price is 3.9 cents less than one week ago and 14.8 cents lower than one year ago but 22.9 cents more than one month ago. It has dropped $1.748 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.098. It has dropped 6.7 cents over the past 10 days, including 1.1 cents Saturday.

The national average price is 4.7 cents less than one week ago and 24 cents lower than one year ago but unchanged from one month ago. It has dropped $1.918 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

Gas prices are expected to remain steady as routine seasonal maintenance wraps up, according to the AAA.
