A man killed during a multi-vehicle crash Sunday on the San Diego (405) Freeway in North Hills was identified.
The crash occurred at 2 a.m. Sunday on the southbound freeway at the Nordhoff Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash involved a red van and white sedan.
Nineteen-year-old Andrew Valdez was pronounced dead at the scene, the Medical Examiner’s office reported. His city of residence was not provided.
A SigAlert, issued at 2:31 a.m. closing the southbound lanes of the freeway at the Nordhoff Street off-ramp, was extended an additional 30 minutes at 5:55 a.m.
