The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Monday for the sixth consecutive day following a run of eight decreases in nine days, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $4.807.

The average price has risen 5.9 cents over the past six days, including 1 cent Sunday, after dropping 4.4 cents over the previous nine days, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.7 cents more than one week ago, but 6.6 cents less than one month ago and 44.7 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.686 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The streak of increases to the Orange County average price was also extended to six days with an increase of six-tenths of a cent to $4.747. It has risen 6.4 cents over the past six days, including one-tenth of a cent Sunday. The streak of increases follows a run of seven decreases in eight days totaling 6.1 cents.

The Orange County average price is 6 cents more than one week ago, but 6.8 cents less than one month ago and 42.1 cents lower than one year ago. It has dropped $1.723 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.136, ending a run of nine drops in 10 days. It has dropped 5 cents over the past 11 days, including four-tenths of a cent Sunday. The national average price decreased three consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The national average price is 2.9 cents less than one week ago, 5.9 cents lower than one month ago and 48.3 cents below what is was one year ago. It has dropped $1.88 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.

“After rising last week, the national average price of gasoline has declined from a week ago — but beware — w/oil up $5/bbl from a week ago and thanks to optimism over the China/US tariff deal, #gasprices could soon inch up,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations, wrote on social media early Monday.
