A homeless man was struck and killed Saturday by multiple vehicles near a freeway offramp to the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Palms community of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 6:10 a.m. on the eastbound freeway, at the La Cienega Boulevard offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man, who was wearing a black shirt and blue shorts, had been sitting on top of the center divider. He was struck by multiple vehicles, the CHP said.
A SigAlert, issued at 6:30 a.m. closing all eastbound lanes for an unknown duration, was modified at 6:50 a.m., to only close the Nos. 3, 4, and 5 lanes. The Nos. 1 and lanes remained opened.
There was no other immediate information available.
