The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $4.726 after three consecutive increases totaling eight-tenths of a cent.
The average price is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 10.1 cents more than one month ago and 17.1 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped $1.767 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped four-tenths of a cent to $4.697, one day after remaining unchanged. It is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, but 10.4 cents more than one month ago and 21.6 cents higher than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.761 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price recorded its largest increase since Aug. 27, rising 1.5 cents to $3.15, the second consecutive increase following a run of nine decreases in 10 days totaling 7.1 cents. The national average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 4.2 cents less than one month ago and 6.6 cents lower than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.866 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
