“Regretting You” grossed $8.1 million this weekend to lead all films in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The romantic drama, which stars Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace and Dave Franco and is based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling 2019 novel, opened in third place last weekend with $12.8 million.

Blumhouse’s horror film “Black Phone 2” was second with $8 million in its third weekend in theaters, Comscore reported.

The anime film “Chainsaw Man” grossed $6 million Friday through Sunday in its second week of release.

Director Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Bugonia” opened with $4.8 million for fourth place, followed by a 40th anniversary re-release of “Back to the Future,” which took in $4.7 million.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” ($3.8 million), “Tron: Ares” ($2.8 million), “Stitch Head” ($2.1 million), “Good Fortune” ($1.4 million) and “One Battle After Another” ($1.1 million).

Separately, Netflix’s global phenomenon “KPop Demon Hunters” reportedly grossed about $5.3 million this weekend in its second big-screen go-around after the streaming giant released it for a limited time in August. Netflix doesn’t officially report theatrical box office numbers.

Halloween weekend is traditionally slow at the box office, and this year’s business was likely further affected by a thrilling seven-game World Series that concluded Saturday night.
