A woman in her 30s was fatally struck by a pickup while walking across state Route 18 in the Llano area, authorities announced Monday.
The collision occurred around 6:35 p.m. Saturday on the SR 18 east of 248th Street East, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials said the woman had been walking across the freeway and was struck by an eastbound Ford pickup driven by a 46-year-old man.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
There was no indication that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors leading to the fatal crash.
The victim’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
