“Avatar: Fire and Ash” held onto the top spot at the box office for the fourth straight week, grossing another $21.3 million this weekend to lead all films in North America, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
The third film in director James Cameron’s science fiction series easily beat out Paramount’s horror film “Primate,” which opened with $11.3 million, Comscore reported.
“The Housemaid” took third place with $11.2 million Friday through Sunday in its fourth weekend in theaters in the United States and Canada.
“Zootopia 2” also continued its impressive run, making $10.1 million in its seventh weekend.
“Greenland 2,” a sequel to 2020’s disaster film starring Gerard Butler, opened with $8.5 million for fifth place.
“Marty Supreme” was sixth with $7.6 million in its fourth weekend.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “Anaconda” ($5.1 million), “SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants” ($3.8 million), “David” ($3.08 million) and “Song Sung Blue” ($3 million).
