A 56-year-old man is hospitalized Wednesday after he was rescued by firefighters who pulled him from the Los Angeles River near the Elysian Valley neighborhood.
Los Angeles Fire Department Air Operations were called at approximately 1:39 a.m. Wednesday to 2274 N. Duvall St., adjacent to the river, where they found the victim, who was stranded on an ”island”, and rescued him using a hoist operation, said LAFD spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton.
The victim was take to a hospital for hypothermia symptoms.
