A man was in custody Thursday for allegedly driving under the influence while causing a single-vehicle crash on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in Pomona that left his passenger trapped inside the vehicle.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the westbound freeway at Towne Avenue at 2:52 a.m. Thursday, where they found the woman trapped inside a white pickup truck, a CHP spokesman told City News Service.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel were called to the scene, where they freed the passenger, who was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in unknown condition.
Video from the scene showed a CHP officer administering a field sobriety test to the driver.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, the CHP said.
