A 28-year-old man was gravely injured Thursday when a trench collapsed at a Pacific Palisades construction site.
Firefighters responded at 1:48 p.m. Thursday to the collapse in the 15400 block of West Via De Las Olas and immediately began a rescue operation, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said paramedics administered life-saving measures and took the man to a hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
It was unclear what caused the collapse.
