Overnight ramp and lane closures on the Hollywood (101) Freeway will continue Tuesday through Friday as crews work on the Alvarado Street bridge in Echo Park.
Caltrans said motorists can expect the following closures:
–Between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday through Friday morning, the southbound 101 off- and on-ramps at Alvarado Street/state Route 2 may be closed;
–Between 11:59 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday morning, one lane of westbound and eastbound Alvarado Street will be closed between the 101 freeway and Sunset Boulevard; and
–Between 11:59 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, one lane of westbound and eastbound Alvarado Street will be closed between the 101 and Sunset Boulevard.
Caltrans said the posted speed limit will be reduced by 10 mph in the construction zones, with signs alerting motorists to closures and reduced speeds.
“This work is part of a $15.8 million project to upgrade existing bridge rails to current standards and increase the durability and longevity of the Alvarado Street, First Street and Santa Monica Boulevard/State Route 2 bridges on U.S. 101 and another on state Route 110/Arroyo Seco Parkway at Avenue 60,” according to a Caltrans statement.
