Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier marks its 30th anniversary Tuesday as the first amusement park on the pier since the 1930s and has grown to welcome more than 12 million visitors a year from around the world.

“Thirty years ago today, Pacific Park brought amusement back to the Santa Monica Pier,” said Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier CEO Jeff Klocke. “Pacific Park is a reflection of the community that saved this Pier and continues to shape its future.”

It offers 12 rides, 14 midway games, Snackville oceanfront dining and beachside retail. The park is anchored by the iconic solar-powered Pacific Wheel Ferris wheel, which features a birthday-themed lighting display.

Over the past 30 years, the park has provided nearly 100 million rides on its 12 boardwalk attractions, welcomed more than 14 million riders on its Ferris wheel, served 3,639,894 funnel cakes and served more than 4,511,362 million scoops of ice cream, according to its operators.
