Caltrans Friday will begin a 55-hour extended weekend lane reduction on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Pico Rivera for paving work along a stretch between Peck Road and Rose Hills Road.
The southbound 605 will be reduced to one lane starting at 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Saturday, according to Caltrans.
Two southbound lanes will be open from 4 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday and from then until 5 a.m. Monday only one southbound lane will be open.
All southbound 605 lanes will reopen to the public by 5 a.m. Monday.
As for ramps, the southbound 605 Rose Hills Road on- and off-ramps will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, as will the southbound Peck Road on-ramp to the southbound 605.
Demolition work may be heard and felt by those nearby, according to Caltrans, which warned that more 55-hour extended weekend lane reductions are scheduled through the balance of the year.
