“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” raked in $145 million in its second weekend in North American theaters to easily retain the No. 1 spot at the box office, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
The Sony/Columbia Pictures/Marvel Studios release, which stars Tom Holland and Zendaya and was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, has already made about $1.66 billion in worldwide ticket sales, and claimed the third-best second weekend domestically behind 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.”
“The Odyssey” was second with $31.5 million in its fourth weekend, and has made $461 million domestically and $1.1 billion worldwide.
The romantic comedy “One Night Only” opened with $5.7 million for a distant third place, Rentrak reported.
The comedy “Super Troopers 3” opened with $4 million, followed by “Toy Story 5,” which grossed $3.9 million Friday through Sunday in its eighth weekend in theaters.
“Minions & Monsters” was sixth with $3.5 million in its sixth week.
Rounding out the top 10 releases were “Moana” ($2.8 million), “Ice Cream Man” ($2 million), “The Invite” ($717,568) and “CatVideoFest 2026” ($568,414).
This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $203 million. The year-to-date total is $6.608 billion — up 18.5% from the figure at this time last year, according to Rentrak.
