A multi-day burning off of gases was scheduled to begin Wednesday at a refinery in Torrance.
The so-called “flaring” was due to take place starting at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at 11:59 p.m., according to city officials.
The city issued an alert advising residents of the flaring.
