A 24-year-old man was killed Saturday in a collision on the Harbor (110) Freeway, prompting the issuance of a SigAlert.
The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on the southbound freeway just north of West 51st Street, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Roberto Gomez.
Arriving officers discovered a deceased man, an overturned Lexus ES350, a Chevrolet Camaro with minor left-side damage, a Toyota Corolla Crossover with minor right-side damage and a Toyota Corolla with minor rear-end damage, Gomez said.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the Lexus ES350 was traveling at a high rate of speed, collided with the Chevrolet Camaro, then with the Toyota Corolla Crossover and then with the Toyota Corolla,” he said.
The deceased man was identified as Timothy Crawford, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office. His city of residence was not available.
Gomez did not mention whether there were any injuries.
The CHP closed southbound lane nos. 2, 3 and 4 and issued a SigAlert that lasted several hours.
The crash remained under investigation, Gomez said.
