A big rig flipped over across the center divider of the Foothill (210) Freeway in Claremont Monday, with truck and trailer blocking lanes on both sides of the roadway.

The rollover was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:44 a.m. Monday and originated on the eastbound side just west of Baseline Road.

A witness told the CHP debris from the crash was scattered across all lanes. The tractor was on the westbound side leaking diesel fuel onto the HOV lane, with some of the fuel seeping under the center divider to the eastbound side, the CHP said.

A black sedan was also reported overturned on the eastbound freeway and its role in the incident was not clear.

The big rig driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 2:06 a.m. shutting down the westbound and eastbound HOV lanes and eastbound lanes 1 and 2 just west of Baseline Road.
