The 38-yearold man whose decomposing remains were found in the riverbed of a South El Monte water channel was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The body of Cesar Robledo was found in the Rio Hondo Channel near the Rush Street cross around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
An investigator from the medical examiner’s office noted signs of blunt force trauma to the body, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The body was also showing signs of the beginning stages of decomposition.
The medical examiner’s office deferred a finding as to the cause of Robledo’s death, which remains under investigation.
Anyone with information related to Robledo’s death was urged to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
