Motorists traveling through the Sepulveda Pass will face overnight lane, ramp and connector closures next week as crews continue work on a $143.7 million pavement rehabilitation project along the San Diego (405) Freeway, Caltrans announced Thursday.
The closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday, for K-rail installation and paving work, according to Caltrans.
Up to two northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway will be closed between Sepulveda Boulevard and Victory Boulevard, while up to one northbound lane will be closed between Wilshire Boulevard and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive, Caltrans said.
The northbound Getty Center Drive on- and off-ramps and the northbound 405 off-ramp to Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive will also be closed.
On the southbound side, up to three lanes will be closed between the Ventura (101) Freeway and Skirball Center Drive/Mulholland Drive.
The southbound Sepulveda Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard on- and off-ramps and the Burbank Boulevard on-ramp to the southbound 405 will also be closed.
The northbound and southbound 101 Freeway connectors to the southbound 405 will be closed, along with the southbound 101 connector to the northbound 405.
The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph in certain sections of the northbound and southbound freeway because of the ongoing paving work.
Residents and businesses near the construction may experience noise, vibrations and dust, Caltrans said.
Motorists were advised to check Caltrans QuickMap for current road conditions.
The work is part of the I-405 Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Van Nuys and Westwood through the Sepulveda Pass. The project is intended to improve safety and mobility and extend the life of the freeway pavement.
