The 150-acre Danny Fire near the Golden State (5) Freeway south of Gorman was 96% contained Saturday.

“Firefighters made good progress today, increasing containment to 96%,” incident command officials said Saturday evening. “The fire remains at 150 acres. The fire is now in patrol status. All evacuations have been lifted.” The now-lifted evacuation order was for the fire footprint and the directly adjacent area.

The fire broke out around 4:50 p.m. Thursday north of Smokey Bear Road, according to Angeles National Forest headquarters. It was fought by U.S. Forest Service firefighters assigned to the Angeles National Forest, Cleveland National Forest, Lassen National Forest, Los Padres National Forest, San Bernardino National Forest and Shasta-Trinity National Forest along with engine crews and equipment from Nevada, Arizona, Colorado and Idaho.

The unified command with the Los Angeles County Fire Department ended Saturday.
