The Los Angeles Zoo announced a revamped membership program Monday that officials bill as a service that “pays for itself in as few as two visits.”

Zoo officials said the membership program was guided by member feedback. It includes new benefits such as the option to add a flexible guest to any membership level and a discount for any L.A. County resident.

An L.A. Zoo membership allows guests unlimited free visits for an entire year, including during daytime events and larger discounts on nighttime events like L.A. Zoo Lights.

Starting Monday, the new L.A. Zoo membership tiers will cost the following:

— An individual membership will cost $75, providing unlimited visitation for one named adult. L.A. County residents can buy the membership tier for $65.

— An individual plus membership will provide unlimited visitation for one named adult, plus one flexible guest per visit, for a cost of $125, or $115 for L.A. County residents.

— A family membership will provide unlimited visitation for two named adults, plus all household children, at a cost of $185, or $155 for county residents.

— A family plus membership will provide unlimited visitation for two named adults, plus all household children, plus one flexible guest per visit, at a cost of $235, or $200 for county residents.

— Lastly, the zoo has added a new add-on guest policy, allowing members to bring an additional flexible guest (unnamed adult or child) to any membership tier for $65.

Existing L.A. Zoo members will continue to receive their current benefits until renewal. Early renewals will be upgraded to the new tier structure and will be extend the membership by 12 months form the original expiration date.
