Eight people, including six children, suffered non- life-threatening injuries in a four-vehicle, chain reaction collision tonight in Westminster.

The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Beach and Westminster boulevards, said Capt. Ben Gonzales of the Orange County Fire Authority.

An OCFA unit was en route to a medical aid call and approaching the intersection when the collision occurred, he said.

A firefighter told a news photographer at the scene that the chain- reaction collision began when one vehicle stopped for the emergency vehicle and was rear-ended.

The victims complained of neck and back pain and were taken to hospitals, Gonzales said.

Five ambulances responded along with three engines and 15 firefighters, including a battalion chief, Gonzales said.

Westminster police were investigating the crash, he said.
