Two Riverside women were arrested in connection with several residential burglaries in south Orange County, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday.

Sandra Elizabeth Rojas, 36, and Marie Alejandro Rojas, 38, related by marriage, were arrested Monday when investigators began to suspect they were behind a series of burglaries by posing as housekeepers, allowing them to get into homes without forced entry, sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

The investigators obtained a search warrant for the Riverside home where the two women lived and found evidence linking them to several of the burglaries, Hallock said.

Investigators are planning on displaying stolen property in order to identify additional victims and get stolen property back to its rightful owners, Hallock said.

Anyone with information on the burglaries was asked to call the sheriff’s department at (949) 425-1901.
