A car crashed into a restaurant in Laguna Hills Monday afternoon, injuring the 87-year-old woman driving the vehicle and three customers, one seriously, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 1 p.m. at Polly’s Pies at 23701 Moulton Parkway, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Concialdi.
The woman, with her husband in the passenger seat, drove through the wall of the restaurant, suffering minor injuries to her legs, Concialdi said. She was taken to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo.
An 88-year-old woman in the restaurant suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Mission Hospital, Concialdi said. Another customer — a 68-year- old man — suffered moderate injuries, Concialdi added.
A third customer at a separate table — another 88-year-old woman — suffered a minor head injury and was taken to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, Concialdi said.
Officials were trying to determine if the building was structurally sound.
