A man in his mid-60s was killed in a fire Monday in a home that was so stuffed with belongings that the victim’s body was not found for an hour.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 200 block of North Citrus Street at 8:14 a.m., according to Orange Fire Department Capt. Casey Fieldhouse.

The fire, which started in a bedroom of the single-family home, was doused within 15 minutes, but the hoarding conditions made it difficult for firefighters to find the body, Fieldhouse said.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
