A 38-year-old Anaheim man is in custody on suspicion of killing a transgender activist, whose body was found behind a Dairy Queen in Anaheim in June, a police lieutenant said Wednesday.
Randy Lee Parkerson was arrested Tuesday morning while in his vehicle in the 200 block of East Katella Avenue, Anaheim police Lt. Bob Dunn said. Parkerson was booked at the Anaheim jail in lieu of $1 million bail, he said.
A motive for the killing was not being disclosed by investigators, Dunn said. Detectives also declined to say what relationship, if any, Parkerson had with the 29-year-old victim.
Zoraida Reyes, who was active in local transgender and immigration reform groups, was found dead June 12 in the parking lot of the Dairy Queen at 201 N. State College Blvd., Dunn said.
