A man who was nabbed in an Anaheim police sting pleaded guilty and was immediately sentenced to six years in prison Thursday for trying to pimp a teenage girl, who turned out to be an undercover officer.
Melvin Eugene Winslow, 31, of San Diego, tried to lure the victim, who was an undercover investigator posing as a 17-year-old girl on Facebook, to work for him as a prostitute in April, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Winslow pleaded guilty to attempted human trafficking of a minor, while charges of pandering and attempting to pimp a minor older than 16 were dismissed. His maximum sentence if he were convicted at trial would have been a dozen years in prison.
