A 13-year-old child was struck by a car and seriously injured in Huntington Beach Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The collision happened about 2:50 p.m. at Heil Avenue and Edwards Street, according to Huntington Beach police Sgt. Aaron Garrido.
The child suffered “significant head trauma” and was taken to an area hospital, Garrido said.
The car’s driver stopped at the scene, according to broadcast reports.
